GoFundMe Update
Hello dear supporters of the Alan Jerousek Memorial Fund. You may have noticed that the donations you made earlier this year were refunded. Here’s why:
Shortly after Carolyn and I took over administration of the charity our parents started in 1987, we discovered they had overlooked renewal paperwork that was due to the IRS, and because of that the charity no longer has an official status.
Because our family members were the primary funders (after initial donations from close friends and neighbors), it wasn’t an issue. Our parents never sought any tax deductions, so the monetary gifts were simply passed along to CLCHS each year.
Because we do not have an established tax ID for the fund, GoFundMe will not allow us to accept donations through their app. If anyone knows about charity/tax stuff and would like to help, we'd be grateful. We’d love to make it official and need some guidance with that.

FAQs
Is my donation tax-deductible?
No….not yet! Carolyn and Donna are working to achieve official 501 (c) (3) charity status and will keep donors up to date on their progress.
Where does my donation go?
All funds go to a CLCH varsity basketball player, who is selected by the head coach based on: sportsmanship, leadership, academic achievement and need.
We cover all costs and do not use the funds for anything other than the students and school. We have used the money to buy jerseys and plan to donate equipment for the athletic department that is requested by the coaches.
Can I get involved?
Sure! We would like to organize a yearly alumni game. We would also like to hear from former players and recipients of the scholarship, to find out how they think we can grow and improve our foundation.
